Each year the Vancouver International Soccer Festival takes place on the traditional territory of the Coast Salish peoples. The BC Assembly of First Nations (BCAFN) is pleased to join the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations in welcoming local and visiting soccer teams to Vancouver to participate in this celebration of sport and cross-cultural understanding. It is my pleasure to signal my support to the coordinators of the Vancouver International Soccer Festival in promoting individual health and inclusion of First Nations in this tournament. I encourage all interested First Nations in British Columbia to participate in this celebration.
